Divided into three wards.

from the head of said creek to the head of Acton's Cove or Spa Creek; and thence following the northeast of said creek to the place of beginning; and the said city shall be divided into three wards by the corporation of said city, and the citizens of Annapolis qualified to vote for members of the General Assembly of Maryland, shall, on the second Monday of July, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy-seven, and every two years thereafter, elect by ballot a mayor, counsellor, and the voters in each ward

shall at the same time elect by ballot two residents thereof as aldermen, who shall constitute the corporation of said city, under the name and style of the Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, Thai the present Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis shall continue to perform their duties as, such until the election and qualification of their successors, and

Fill vacancies.

that in the meantime any vacancy occurring in the said board by death, resignation or otherwise, may be filled in the manner prescribed by the charter of the City of Annapolis.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the date of its passage, and approval by the Governor.
