and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted to
read as follows:
|
Annual levy.
|
36. The county commissioners of said county, shall
annually levy such sum of money as they may deem
sufficient to pay the expenses which may be incurred
the then succeeding year, by the attendance of jurors,
States witnesses, criers and bailiffs at the Circuit
Courts, and shall place the same in the hands of the
collector of the fourth election district for collection.

Duty of col-
lector.
|
37. And it shall be the duty of such collector to
attend at his office in Rockville every day during the
several terms of the Circuit Courts of said county, and
to pay such certificates of attendance when presented
to him for payment, and upon his failure to so attend
at his said office in person, or by deputy and to pay
any such certificate when so presented by any person
to whom the same has been issued, such collector

Penalty.
|
shall forfeit and pay to every such party for every
such failure the sum of five dollars, to be recovered
by such party in his own name, as other small debts
are recovered before a justice of the peace, together
with the costs of suit.

CHAPTER 188.

AN ACT to repeal section four hundred and fifty-
three of the acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-
four so far as it relates to Caroline county and
to enact the following in lieu thereof.
|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section four hundred and fifty-three
of the acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-four, be
and the same is hereby repealed so far as it relates
to Caroline county, and the following enacted in lieu
thereof:
