SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That all justices of the
peace shall have jurisdiction to hear, try and deter-
mine all cases which may arise under the provisions
of this act, and upon conviction shall stand committed
until the fine and fees are paid.

effect and be in full force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 156.
AN ACT to incorporate the Stock Exchange of the
City Baltimore.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Charles E. Roberts, T. Bullett Har-
rison, Robert Hough, William S. Peterkin and John
Loney, and their successors are hereby created a
body politic and corporate under the name and style
of the: Baltimore Stock Exchange, and by that name
may sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded,
receive and hold property and effects, real and per-
sonal, by gift, devise or purchase, and dispose of the
same or any part thereof by sale, lease or otherwise,
said property, so held, not to exceed the sum of five
hundred thousand dollars, may have a common seal
and alter and renew the same from time to time, and
may make such rules, regulations and by-laws, from
time to time, as they may think proper and neces-
sary for the government the corporation hereby
created and not contrary to the laws of this State or
of the United States.
