CHAPTER 154.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners
of Harford and Talbot counties to divide any of
the election districts in said counties into election
precincts, and to designate the places of holding
elections therein.

Make divis'ns

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Har-
ford and Talbot counties be and they are hereby
authorized to make such divisions of any election
district or districts, in said counties, into election
precincts as in their judgment the public interest
may require; and to designate the places of holding
elections therein and the number by which each of
said precincts shall be known.

Separate lists.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the officer of registration in each election district,
so divided into precincts, when notified by the
county commissioners of such division of any such-
district prior to the next election in said counties, to
register all the voters in such district, in the same
mode and manner as the voters in other districts are
required to be registered by the registration laws of
the State of Maryland; and he shall prepare separate
lists of voters according to the sub-divisions of such
districts into precincts as hereinbefore provided,
designating the election precincts of the districts in
which the voters are or shall be respectively entitled
to vote, and shall deliver one copy of the lists of
voters for each of said precincts to the judges of elec-
tion thereof.

Appoint
Judges.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the Commissioners of Harford and Talbot coun-
ties to appoint three persons for each of said pre-
cincts, residents thereof, to act as judges of elections
for said precincts, and who shall perform the duties
of their office in the manner required by the election
laws of the State of Maryland, and such judges shall
make their returns in the same manner as if the said
precincts were districts and in accordance with the
