be signed by the president of the said board of
county commissioners, and countersigned by the
clerk of said board, not to exceed in the aggregate
the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars, said
bonds to bear interest payable semi-annually on the
first day of January and the first day of July in each
and every year, at the rate of six per centum per an-
num, and the interest on said bonds shall be re-
ceived by the collector of taxes for said county in
payment of county taxes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said bonds
shall be issued payable twenty years from the date
thereof, and be redeemable at any time after the ex-
piration of five years from date, at the pleasure of
said county commissioners.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That said bonds
shall be sold by said county commissioners at public
sale, to the highest responsible bidder therefor, for
cash, after giving at least three weeks prior notice,
and advertisement in two or more newspapers pub-
lished in said county.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said
county commissioners shall in each and every year
levy upon the assessable property in Frederick
county such sum of money as may be necessary to
pay the interest on the outstanding bonds, by them
issued in pursuance of this act, as the same shall fall
due, and also such further and additional sum as
may be required to gradually retire and redeem
such bonds until they shall have been redeemed,
and said taxes authorized by this act shall be col-
lected as other taxes are collected in said county.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the money
raised by the issue and sale of such bonds, under the
provisions of this act, shall be exclusively appropri-
ated and applied to the payment of the sums of
money already borrowed by said county commis-
sioners, and expended in the erection of the said new
jail, and to the payment of such further expenses as
may be incurred in the erection and furnishing of
said new jail, and enclosing the same with a sub-
stantial wall.
