. CHAPTER 78.

AN ACT to exempt certain portions of the waters
of Anne Arundel county from the operation and
effect of sections one and three of article ninety-eight
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "wild-
fowl," so far as the same relates to shooting wild
water-fowl from sink-boxes, and to enact other sec-
tions in lieu thereof.

Exemption.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the waters lying and being within
the limits of Anne Arundel county, including the
waters of the Chesapeake Bay along and lying within
said limits, except creeks, ponds and inlets, and ex-
cept also Magothy River and Rhode and West Rivers,
from the outer point of the mouth of Rhode River
to their heads, be and the same are hereby exempt
and released from the operation and force of sections
one and three of article ninety-eight of the Code of
Public General Laws, title " Wild-Fowls, " so far as
the same relate to, and prohibit the shooting of wild-
fowl from sink-boxes, and the following sections
enacted in lieu thereof:

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That no person shall kill
or shoot at wild-fowl in, on or over the waters of Anne
Arundel county, or the waters of Chesapeake Bay,
within the limits of said county, from any boat,
box or contrivance of any kind, with any kind of gun
which cannot be discharged from the shoulder at
arms length and without a rest, and any person vio-

lating this section, on conviction thereof, shall pay a
fine of not less than one hundred dollars, nor more
than five hundred dollars for each offence.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That no owner, master,
hirer, borrower, or employee of any owner or other
person, shall use or employ any sink-box for the pur-
pose of shooting at wild-fowl therefrom, in the waters
of Anne Arundel county and of Chesapeake Bay,
lying and being within the limits of said county,
without there having been first obtained a license for
the use of said sink-box as is hereinafter provided.
