Provided always, and it is hereby further declared and enacted by the Authority aforesaid, that nothing in this Act contained shall extend, or be construed to extend to the abridg- ing, enlarging, confirming or altering, the Title of any Person, Body Politick or Corporate whatsoever, of, in or to any such Lands or Grounds, but the same shall remain and continue the same in all Respects, (except as to the new Computation of Time when such respective Right or the Enjoyment thereof shall commence, or be put in Use.) STATUTES Made at WESTMINSTER, Anno Regni GEORGII II. vicesimo nono and A. D. 1756. CAP. XXXI. i An Act to enable Infants, Lunaticks, and Femes Covert to surrender Leases in order to renew the same. Whereas divers Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments have been, and may be, granted by Lease tor the Life of one or more Person or Persons, or for Terms of Years absolute, or determinable upon the Death of one or more Person or Per- sons or otherwise; And whereas in order to obtain a Renewal of such Leases, it is in many Cases necessary to surrender up the Estates thereby granted; which Surrenders cannot be effectu- ally made by Persons under the Age of twenty-one Years, nor Lunaticks, nor by Femes Covert without levying a Fine, to the manifest Detriment of them and their Families; Be it therefore enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advise and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That in all Cases where any Person under the Age of twenty-one Years, or any Lunatick or Feme Covert, is or shall become interested in or intitled to 789* any Lease or Leases made or granted, or to be made or |
