At a Court held by their Maties Justices of the Peace for the County of Somerset the eleventh day of December Anno Domini 1690 . - - - - - - - - - - - - - Comrs. Present Coll. David Browne: mr. ffrancis: Jenckins. mr. James: Round. mr Samuel in Court were Hopkins. mr. Thomas: Jones. Capt. John: King . - - - - - - - - - - - - John: ffranklin in Open Court confesseth judgment for thirteen hundred and ten pounds of tobacco due to the Estate of mr. Archibald: Areskin decd. Coll. David. Browne Admr to the said Areskin. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1310. Memorandum that John: ffranklin who intermarried Rhodiah: ffausett Admrx to the Estate of John: Cropper decd, this day, put up a writing at the Court door, intimating a plene Administravit in Order to a Qyuelus est. Pettie Juries dismist Ordered. That all persons hereafter that doth not bring in to Court their Charge at the Leavy lying. shall next year at the leavy lying appear and shew Cause why they did not bring in their County charge as aforesd. - - - - - - - - - - Whereas their Maties. Justices of the Peace for this County have received divers affronts and injuries at mr Andrew Whittingtons house, in theire publick concerns;by unworthy dissafected persons. It is therefore Ordered, that dureing the time of Court dayes, no person whatsoever, shall attempt, or be admitted into the said Room where the Justices are, without leave or Order from some of their worps The room appointed for the Justices, is that above the Celler. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This day the County Leavy was laid which did amount to 37lb. pr poll. Country leavy 51 tot: 88 Whereas Coll. Browne did Order Joseph:Venables to take inspection of all the Country Armes that is in this County to render accompt thereof to this Court which accordinglie was done by me ysd sd Joseph Imprimus at mr.Edward:Dayes 12:guns wanting one Cock pin, one stock and two Screw pins - - - - - - - - Item at Capt.Winders.6.guns wanting 4 Screw pins, one lock, and one Cock pin. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Item at Coll. Browns 15:guns.wanting one cock pin and 2 Screw pins . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Item at mr. Weatherleys. 10:guns wanting a main spring and 2 screw pins . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Item at Capt. Coulborns 20 guns wanting 2 new stocks & 2 wants mending.6 screw pins,1 Cock & cock pin, 1 lock, & 1 upr Jaw Item. Esqr. Layfield. 6.guns wanting one upper Jaw, one Cock pin one Stock: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Item 10: guns at the sea side wanting one new stock, one main spring. 2 cocks, 2 cock pins, 2 upper Jaws two Screw pins and one ferril. - - - this abovesd accot. given in pr Joseph: Venables.
