. Was read a secend time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Free School
and Calvin Institute of Baltimore, for the Education of
Young Ladies,
* Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Elkton and Elk
Valley Railroad Company, to charge a higher rate for trans-
portation and tolls of persons and freight, then is prevented
by section 13, of chapter 476, or the Acts of 1870, codified as
section 224, of Article XXVI., of the amended Code of Pub-
lic General Laws, title "Corporations," sub-title "Rail-
roads," under which Article said Company is incorporated,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of the Act of
1870, chapter 77, incorporating the town of Frostburg, in
Allegany county, and to re-enact the same with amendments,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact section 135,
of Article XII of the Code of Public Local Laws, title ' 'Har-
ford County," sub-title "Sheriffs," as amended and re-enact-
ed by chapter 136, of the Acts passed at the January Session
of 1868,
