The bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-sioners of Frederick county to construct fish ways ia the
Monocacy river,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a.
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to issue additional certificates of debt
or bonds of the City of Baltimore, to an amount not exceed-
ing three millions of dollars, for the purpose of increasing
its water supply, being upon a second reading,
Mr. Banks submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section . Provided, however That whereas the Water
Board have, until recently, been extending their water
mains and pipes into those portions of Baltimore county,
adjoining the city, and have been supplying their resident
thereof with water; and whereas, of recent date, said Water
Board has, by its action, refused to supply any future appli-
cant of Baltimore county with water upon any terms what-
soever, which said action has, oi late date, been sanctioned
by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, said Act shall
not take effect .until the Water Board and the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore shall rescind their action as above
referred to, and shall place the residents of the county of
Baltimore in their former position in regard to receiving
supplies of water from said Water Board without any other
or further charges or expense other than those heretofore im-
posed, and without subjecting them to any other delay than
the residents of Baltimore City are, in obtaining new sup-
plies, otherwise, this Act shall be null and void.
Which was read,
And on motion of Mr. Chaisty,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill, together with pending amendment, ordered to be
printed.
The bill, entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point two additional Justices of the Peace, one for Election
District No. 1, and one for Election District No. 4, of Balti-
more county,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act granting the consent of the Leg-
islature to a bequest made in the last will and testament of
Lydia Lowe,late of Wicomico county, deceased, to George
