Which was adopted.
The bill as amended was then 'read a second time and.
ordered to be engrossed for a third, reading.
The House then proceeded to the consideration of the bill
entitled an Act to tax the gross receipts of railroad compa-
nies in this State, for Stale purposes.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Stone submitted the following" amendment.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 3, niter the word "companies," insert the-
words " worked by steam."
Which was adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and'
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The House then proceeded to the consideration of the next
order of the day.
Being the bill entitled an Act to provide for the collection
of arrearages of State Taxes due on the shares of capital
stock of National Banks, and Banking Associations, located
in this State, and doing business therein,
Said bill being upon a third reading,
The bill was then read a third time and passed by yeas.
