AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add at end of section 1, the words:
To the Deaf and Dumb Asylum of Frederick, twenty thou-
sand dollars, for the education of the Deaf and Dumb; to the
Maryland Institute, for promotion of mechanic art, three
thousand dollars, as provided by Act of 1868, chapter 198;
to the Colored Normal School, two thousand dollars.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 2. And be it enacted. The Treasurer of the State
shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said
sums 01 money herein appropriated for the objects and pur-
poses specified to, or upon the order of the person. or persons,
bodies, politic or corporate, severally entitled thereto, and
that the several public officers to whom the same, or any part
thereof may- be paid, shall render quarterly to the Comptrol-
ler, accounts of the expenditures thereof, with the proper
vouchers thereof, verified by affidavits.
Mr. Griswold submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Under title "Schools," strike out in lines 17 and 18, the
words, "to the Comptroller, as required by section 4, Article
LXXXIV., of the Code of Public General Lawa," and insert
the words, "as required by law."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add at end of section 1, the words, "And for the Mary-
land Agricultural College, the sum of six thousand dollars."
Harig Which was adopted.
Mr. Young, of Allegany, submitted the following amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add at end of section 1, "To the German Catholic School
of Cumberland, seven hundred and fifty dollars."
Which was rejected.
Mr. dark, of Baltimore City, submitted the following
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Line 18, after the word "twenty," insert the word "fire."
