Said bill was then returned to the Senate.
The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation from the Hon. Joshua Vansant, Mayor of the City of
Baltimore:
MAYOR'S OFFICE,
BALTIMOREH, March 15, 1872'..
To the General Assembly of Maryland:
GENTLEMEN—I herewith transmit to your Honorable Body,.
a certified copy of a Resolution of the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore, entitled a "Resolution remonstrating against
the increase of pay to Police Force," and respectfully submit
the matter to the consideration of the General Assembly of
Maryland.
I have the honor to be, very respectfully,
Your obedient servant,
JOSHUA VANSANT, Mayor.
Together with the Resolution therein named,
Which were severally read.
Also, the following:

BALTIMORE, March 15, 1872-'.
To the General Assembly of Maryland :

With the following Resolution:
Resolution looking to the extension of the City Limits
Resolved by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, That
the Representatives of the City in the General Assembly of
Maryland be, and they are hereby, requested to procure the
passage of a law extending the boundary of Baltimore City,
on the West, North and East, parallel with the present bound
daries, two miles.
