REPORT.
ANNAPOLIS, January 16th, 1872.
To the Hon, A. P. Gorman,
Speaker of the House of Delegates of Maryland:
SIR—In obedience to an order of the Board of Trustees, I
have the honor to transmit to you the enclosed communica-
tion of the President of the Faculty, showing the condition
of the College for the past year.
I respectfully ask that it bo accepted as the report of the
Trustees, as required by the charter of the College. On be-half of the Board,

SIR—Please find herewith, the Annual Report of the
condition of this Institution over which I have the honor to
preside.
If it shall be the pleasure of the Board in submitting the
report to the Legislature, to request that it be printed, and
500 copies forwarded to the College for distribution among
its patrons and friends, it will serve the cause of the Institu-
tion, and much oblige,

To the Board of Trustees Maryland Agricultural College:
Gentlemen—In submitting his annual report, the under-signed is constrained to acknowledge the goodness of Divine-
Providence in preserving the health of the Collect', and de-fending its inmates from all cont-agious an I dead-lly diseases,.
and in the bestowment of all needful blessings.
At the date of my last report to the Legislature, (.January
6, 1870,) made through the Board of Trustees, there were
eighty students in attendance The catalogue for the scho-
lastic year, ending June 30, 1&71, (a copy of which: is here-
with inclosed,) shows the number of students to be one hun-dred and thirty-six. The current session of the College
promises to greatly exceed any former year in this respect,.
