Also,
The bill, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Balti-
more and Drum Point Railroad Company, by increasing the
number of Directors of said Company.
Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend the title of the bill so as to read, "an Act to
amend the charter of the Baltimore and Drum Point Rail-
road Company, by increasing the number of the Directors of
said Company, authorizing said Company to mortgage its
property and franchises, and to build and construct bridges
over navigable water."
Add the following sections :
"Section 3. And be it enacted, That the President and
Directors of the said Company are hereby authorized and
empowed to execute a mortgage or mortgages, or 'deeds or
deeds of trust, of any or all of the real and personal pro-
perty of every kind and description belonging to the said
Company, together with the franchise of the said Company,
for the purpose of securing the payment of any bonds or
certificates of indebtedness, to be issued by the said Com-
pany, and the interest on the same, for which interest cou-
pons may be attached to the said bonds, and such bonds and
coupons may be made payable upon such terms, and in
such times as the said President and Directors may deem
proper."
"Section 4. And be it enacted, That the said Company be,
and the same is hereby authorized and empowered to build
and construct and maintain such bridge or bridges over any
navigable water or waters, stream or streams, on the line or
route of their said railroad, between the City of Baltimore
and Drum Point, as the said railroad may be located, and on
the line or route of any branch of the said railroad, as the
President and Directors of the said Company may deem ex-
pedient for the use of the said railroad; Provided, that such
bridge or bridges, and the fixtures thereof, shall be built
