passed January Session, 1870, Chapter 2, entitled an Act to
authorise the County Commissioners- of Frederick County to
subscribe to the stock of Turnpike Companies in Frederick
County.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the Select.
Committee on that subject.
Also, . '
A bill, entitled an Act supplementary to an Act passed
January Session, 1870, Chapter 2, restricting the powers of
the Commissioners of Frederick County, in issuing the Bonds
of the County in aid of Turnpike Companies.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the Select
Committee on that subject.
Mr. Streett (the rules being suspended) submitted the fol-
lowing order:
Ordered, That when this House adjourn to-day it stand
adjourned until to-morrow morning, at 11 o'clock.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following
message:
BY THE SENATE,
January 15th,1872.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, the appointment of a Joint Committee, to consist of
five members on the part of the Senate, one to be selected
from each of the present Congressional Districts, and five-
members on the part of the House of Delegates, to be selected
in like manner, to report a bill to divide the State into six
Congressional Districts, so as to provide for a proper repre-
sentation in the House of Representatives of the United
States, under the National Census of 1 870.
The Committee on the part of the Senate will be hereafter
appointed.
