So the amendment submitted by Mr. Phillips was re-
jected.
Mr. Groome, submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 33, line 10, strike out the words "the Assistant
Inspector General."
Which waa adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and
ordered, to be engrossed for a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Griswold, (the rules being suspended,)
The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill, enti-
tled a supplement to an Act passed at the present Session of
the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled an Act to au-
thorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to issue and
lend to the Western Maryland Railroad Company, the stock
of the Mayor and Oily Council of Baltimore, to the amount
of one million dollars, redeemable on the first day of Janu-
ary, 1902, and bearing interest at the rate of six per centum
per annum, from the first day of January, 1812, to aid in
to* construction of the Railroad of said Company.
Said bill being upon a third reading,
The bill was then read a third time, and passed, by ye—
and nays, & follows :
