MONDAY, January 15th, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Chap-
lain.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :
Messrs. German, Speaker, Colton, of St. Mary's, Wilmer,
Hurtt, Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Sparrow, Shipley, Turner,
Foard, of Baltimore county, Litzinger, Spencer, Banks, But-
ler, Roach, Waller, Daugherty, Smith, Vickers, Radcliffe,
Groome, Penington, Scott, Eareckson Ford, of Q A., Frank-
lin, Parker, Rowe, Miller, Baldwin, Streett, Hardcastle, Mc-
Cosker, Hamilton, T. H., Cooper, Hamilton, O. R., Jamart,
Foster, Staylor, Stewart, Travers, dark, of B. city, Colton,
of B. city, Kirk, Chaisty, Harig. Feig, Markland, Griswold,
Young, of Wash. county, Clark, of Mont., Coles, Young, of
Alle. Steele, Polk, Lamotte, H. H., Linthicum, Johnson,
Langrell—59.
Mr. John A. Dunbar, member elect from St. Mary's county,
appeared, qualified and took his seat.
The Speaker laid before the House the following
REPORT.
To the Honorable,
the General Assembly of Maryland:
The undersigned, a member of the Joint Committee, ap-
pointed by the two Houses of the General Assembly of Mary-
land: House Proceedings, 1867, pp. 1,072 and 1,104, to
meet a similar committee, 'appointed by the Legislature of
Virginia, in February, 1867, "To adjust and mark the
Eastern Shore boundary between the two States ; the results
of their work to be submitted to the Legislatures of the two
States respectively for approval or rejection," begs leave
to report, that on the 22d day of December, 1870, he received
from His Excellency, Governor Oden Bowie, the following
'communication:

MY DEAR SIR ;—Governor Walker has notified me of the
Appointment of the Virginia Commissioners to meet those of
Maryland, and define the Boundary Line between the two
States. I have written him and Hon. Henry A. Wise, one
of the Commissioners, of your appointment by the General
