Governor shall fill all vacancies occurring from
amongst the persons nominated by the Maryland
College of Pharmacy, under section three of this
Act.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That each and every per-;
son before commencing to vend at retail drugs, med-
icines or chemicals, for medicinal use, or to compound
and dispense physicians' prescriptions in the City of
Baltimore, as managing owner of a store, or as man-
aging assistant of a store, shall register as a pharma-
cist, under the provisions of this Act-
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That every person who
shall, at the time that this Act goes into effect, be
engaged in vending at retail i,, , drugs, medicines and'
chemicals, for medicinal line, and compounding and
dispensing physicians' prescriptions in the City of
Baltimore, and registered as an apothecary, under
an Act entitled " an Act to prevent incompetent per-
sons from conducting the business of druggist and
apothecary in the City of Baltimore," approved
March the twenty-third, eighteen hundred and
seventy, shall be deemed a registered pharmacist
within the meaning of this Act.
SEC. 7. Awl be ii enacted. That every person hold-
ing a diploma from a regular chartered and recog-
nized College or School of Pharmacy, based upon a
full apprenticeship of four years as a pharmacist,
and who presents satisfactory evidence of these facts
to the said Commissioners of Pharmacy and Practi-
cal Chemistry, shall be deemed competent, and enti-
tled to register as a pharmacist.
SEC. 8. And be if enacted, That said Commissioners
of Pharmacy and Practical Chemistry shall demand
and receive from each applicant for a certificate of
competency, whom they examine, five dollars for
each examination, and shall likewise be entitled to
demand and receive one dollar from every person
whom they register; the money received under the
provisions of this section shall be used and applied
by said commissioners to defray the expenses accru-
ing or arising under this Act.
