are hereby authorized and empowered, either in per-
son or by proxy, to vote the stock so to he subscribed
for, at any meeting of the stockholders of the said
company under such conditions as the private stock-
holders may be authorized to vote their individual
stock.
SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That this Act shall be
submitted to a vote of the legal and qualified voters
of the said county, at an election to be held on the
fourth Monday of April next, at the usual place of
voting in the said county, and in the mode and man-
ner that other elections are held under the laws of the
the State, at which said election every duly registered
voter shall be entitled to vote, and the Sheriff of the
county shall furnish to the Judges of Election copies
of the registry lists as prepared for the last general
election, and shall give notice of the said election in
the manner prescribed for other elections held by
law, and at the said elections there shall be inscribed
on the ballots the words, " For Railroad Subscrip-
tion," or the words "Against Railroad Subscription,"
respectively, and if any ballot shall not contain the
said words respectively, the same shall not be coun-
ted, and the Judges of Election shall make returns to
the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the said county, of
the number of votes cast " For Railroad Subscrip-
tion," and the number of votes cast " Against Rail-
road Subscription," and the said clerk shall by proc-
lamation published in the newspapers, published in
said county, announce the result of the said election;
and that so far as to authorize the said vote to be taken
as hereinbefore provided for, this Act shall take eflect
from the date of its passage.
SEC. 13. And be it enacted. That this Act shall lie
advertized in the newspapers published in Anne
Arundel county, for two months proceeding the next
election to be held for members of the House of Dele-
gates, and be subject to the approval of a majority
of all the members elected to each house of the
General Assembly of Maryland at its next session,
after said election.
