in which case a jury shall be forthwith empannelled
to try the same, and the certificate of the comptroller,
that the said taxes remain due and unpaid, shall be
prima facia evidence to entitle the State to a verdict
and judgment against said bank or banking associa-
tion, and in all cases, where the said court or jury
shall find for the State, judgment shall be rendered
against the said bank or banking association, for the
amount of said taxes, and ten per cent. additional as
damages, and all costs, and a fee of fifty dollars shall
be allowed the State's Attorney in every such case,
to be taxed as a part of the plaintiff's costs in such
suit.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 173.
AN ACT ceding to the United States of America
jurisdiction over the land contained within the
enclosures of the National Cemetery, near An-
napolis.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That jurisdiction and control over the
lands conveyed by Nicholas Brewer, executor of
Nicholas Brewer, deceased, to the United States of
America, as a National Cemetery, by deed bearing
date twenty-eighth day of July, eighteen hundred
and seventy-one, duly executed, acknowledged and
recorded in Liber S. H., number five, folio five hun-
dred and eighty-three, one of the land record books
of Anne Arundel county, be and the same are hereby
granted and ceded to the said United States of
America, which said lands are a part of the lands
called " Todd's Range," lying and being in Anne
Arundel county, and located on the north side of
