CHAPTER 98.
AX ACT to repeal sections one, two, three, five,
six, and nine of the Act of Assembly of eighteen
hundred and sixty-eight, chapter three hundred
and sixty-eight, entitled " an Act to incorporate
the St. Martin's Inlet and Navigation Company,"
and to re-enact the same, with amendments, so as-
to read as follows:
SUCTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Mary Maryland, That sections one, two, three, five, six and
nine of the Act of Assembly of eighteen hundred and
sixty-eight, chapter three hundred and sixty-eight,
entitled " an Act to incorporate the St. Martin's,
Inlet and Navigation Company," be and the same
are hereby repealed, and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:
SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Lemuel Showel, James Whaley,
B. Jones Taylor, Thomas N. Tingle, Gyros L. Wil-
liams, James B. Derickson and James Bishop, and
all other persons who may associate with them by
becoming stockholders, in the manner hereinafter
provided, their successors and assigns, are hereby
made and constituted a body politic and corporate,
by the name, style and title of the St. Martin's Inlet
and Navigation Company, and by that name shall
have perpetual succession, and shall be capable in
law to sue and be Sued, to plead and be imp leaded,
to answer and be answered, in any Court of Law or
Equity, to make and use a common seal, and to alter
the same, and generally to do and perform all such
Acts, and make all such agreements and con-
tracts, and to purchase, lease, hold and posess such
lands, water, water-riglits, powers and privaleges,
goods and chattels as may be necessary to wharf,
dam or pile Synapuxent and Isle of White Bays, in
Worcester comity, at or near the Haw Hammocks
or Collins Thoroughfare, so as to obstruct the waters
of said hays, in such manner, as to cut inlets or
channels through the beach near said Haw Ham-
