Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland : I have the honor to make the following nomination: Thomas K. Stephens, Justice of the Peace in lire First District of Kent county, to serve till the first Monday of May next, vice John T. Hurtt, deceased. WM. PINKNEY WHYTE. On motion by Mr. Spencer, The Senate advised and assented to the aforegoing nomi- nation. On motion by Mr. Miller, The Senate advised and consented to the appointment or James A. Mackey and Thomas J. Scott, as Justices of the Peace for the Fourth District, and Eli Janney, Samuel Logan and J. N. Benjamin, as Justices of the Peace for the Fifth District of Cecil county, agreeably to the nominations of the 19th February, ultimo. On motion by Mr. Denson, The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi- ness, THURSDAY, March 28, 1872.
