Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:
I herewith transmit to you a list of Executive appoint-
ments made for Montgomery county during the recess of the
Legislature.
April 18, 1870—Christopher W. Lansdale, Justice of the
Peace 4th district, vice John Offutt,
declined.
March 2, 1871—Thomas Waters, of Sam'1, Justice of the
Peace 5th district, vice Thomas Fawcett,
deceased.
July 13, 1871—Thomas Beall, Officer of Registration 5th
district, vice J. W. Bell, resigned.
Sept. 5, 1871—Joseph L. Dudsow, Justice of the Peace
2nd district, vice Eli Wolf, deceased.

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments agreeably to the nominations of the 5th instant.

tion, 4th district, vice self failed to
