of the Acts of 1879, entitled "Oysters," and to re-enact the
'following in lieu thereof, beg leave in response, to say: that
said bill, the return of which is requested by your Honorable
Body, was a bill originating in this House, and after being
duly considered and passed, was sent to your Honorable Body
and returned to this Body as passed by the Senate, having
'been read three times in accordance with the Constitution.
The said bill was then engrossed and sent to the Governor
for his signature, and is not now within the control of this
House. We must, therefore, beg to express our regrets that
we cannot comply with the request of your Honorable Body.

OB motion by Mr. Denson, it was
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be authorized to issue his certificate in favor of the Journal
Clerk of the Senate for six days per diem, for correcting and
revising the unprinted Journals of the Senate.
The House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1870,
chapter 477, entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chap-
ter 385, which provide? for paying pensions to soldiers and
widows of deceased soldiers of the war of 1812, being in
.order,
Mr. Blake submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In last section of bill strike out after the word "effect," all,
and insert, "shall take effect from and after April 4th, 1872."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
On page 20, after the words "Thomas Roberts," insert as
follows :
