1872.] OF THE SENATE. 801 The House bill entitled an Act authorizing the Middle- town and Elkton Railroad Company, under the provisions of chapter 476, of the Laws of 1870, to charge a greater rate for tolls and transportation of persons and freight, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, -as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Henry, Compton, Longwell, Carroll, 1 Miller, Claggett, Spates, Denson, Sellman, Downs, Spencer, Dennis, -Steiner, Earle, Wilson—17. Fields, NEGATIVE—None. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. On motion, by Mr. Miller, The rules were suspended, so as to give a second reading this day to The House bill entitled an Act to grant the consent of the General Assembly of Maryland to the bequest of John Coates, to the Trustees of the Methodist Protestant Church, as fol- lows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Longwell, Carroll, Miller, Crawford, Spates, Claggett, Sellman, Denson, Spencer, Downs, Steiner, Dennis, Timmons, Earle, Wilson, Henry, Williams—18. NEGATIVE—None.
