1872.] OF THE SENATE. 775 The Senate bill entitled an Act far the more strict compli- ance of the State of Maryland, with the provisions of an Act of Congress, approved July 2nd, 1862, entitled an Act dona- ting public lands to the several States and Territories which may provide Colleges for the benefit of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." The Senate bill entitled an Act appropriating a sum of money for the use of the Deaf and Dumb Assylum at Fred- erick. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." The Senate bill entitled an Act to defend and preserve the Harbor at Crisfield on the Little Annamessix River in Som- erset county. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal certain sections of Article XXXV., of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Elections," sub-title "Representatives in Congress." Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." The Senate bill entitled an Act relating to recording copies of wills and other papers, the originals of which were lost by the burning of the Court House in Dorchester county. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." The Senate bill entitled a further supplement to an Act to incorporate the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River and Tide Water Canal Company. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." Also, returned The Senate bill entitled an Act to make provision for the payment of the State bonds part due and others not yet due, by selling the State stocks and bonds. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with amendments." AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Add to title, "hereinafter mentioned." Strike out all of preamble, after "seventy," in line 23. Strike out the balance of section 2, after "bonds" in line 14, page 3. Strike out all of section 4, after "payment" in line 9, page 4, and insert "as aforesaid," |
