744 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 30 SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the constable and bailiff of the several election districts of the counties aforesaid, or wards of the several cities, to arrest all persons whom they may see violating any of the sections of this Act, and take them before the nearest Justice of the Peace, to be dealt with as this Act directs. SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage. Which was read and adopted. Senate amendments receded from, amendments proposed by the Committee of Conference adopted, and bill passed by yeas and nays as follows : " AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Blake, Longwell, Compton, Miller, Carroll, Sellman, Claggett, Spencer, Downs, Steiner, Earle, Timmons, Fields, Tuck, Jump, Wilson—1C. NEGATIVE—None. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on Judicial [Proceedings,. to whom was referred The House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 5, of Article XXXVII,, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Evidence," being section 5, of chapter 109, of the Acts. of 1864, and to re-enact sub-title therefor, Reported favorably thereon. Said bill was then read the second time.
