Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported, favor- ably on The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the payment of a balance of sewerage for State House and Governor's Mansion. Which was read the second time and referred to the Com- mittee on Finance. The following Senate bill having passed both Branches of the General Assembly, was this day presented to His Excel- lency, the Governor, for his approval; An Act to repeal chapter 411, passed January Session, 1870, entitled An Act to add additional sections to Article LXIX. of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Offi- cers," regulating and prescribing the number and compensa- tion of officers of the Senate and House of Delegates, and re- pealing all Acts inconsistent therewith. On motion, the Senate took a recess until 8 o'clock, P. M. EVENING SESSION. SATURDAY EVENING—8 o'clock, P. M. The Senate met.' Present the following Senators : Messrs. Blake, Compton, Carroll, Downs, Fields, Jump, Longwell, Miller, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Tuck, Wil- son—13. Mr. Steiner, from the Committee of Conference, on The House bill entitled an Act for the better protection of birds and rabbits in Frederick and Anne Arundel counties.
