President, Jump, Blake, Longwell, Compton, Miller, Crawford, Stephenson, Downs, Spates, Earle, Spencer, Fields, Timmons, Henry, Wilson—16. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Carroll, Steiner, Claggett, Tuck, Dennis, Williams—7. Sellman, The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and delivered the following bills : The Senate bill entitled an Act to legalize the bequest of James Williams, late of Wicomico county, to the Trustees of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Salisbury, Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays." Also, The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay for repairs on the State House and carriage- way to the Governor's Mansion, Endorsed " Passed by yeas and nays." Also, returned The Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to employ counsel to bring suit against the Baltimore Equitable Society, Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed amendment." AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Provided, no compensation be allowed said counsel except "the same be paid out of the amount received against the said 'Company.
