-208 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 80, ninety-nine, and in conformity, as far as practicable with the plan of the streets of the City of Baltimore, lay off, within and without the limits of one mil'' from the? line of said city, such and so many cross streets, avenues and alleys, which shall be made to cross or intersect streets, avenues and ' alleys, leading out of said city, as in the judgment of the said Street Commissioners, the public convenience may re- quire ; and whenever it shall be found necessary, by reason ot irregularities, in the outline of the City of Baltimore, to ' extend the said cross streets, avenues or alleys, or any of them beyond the limits of two miles from the line of said city, the said Street Commissioners may extent!, and lay off the same to such point, as in their judgment the public con- venience may require. Which was adopted. Mr. Spencer submitted the follow ing amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. SEC. 7. And be it enacted. That in apportioning the cost of grading, paving, or otherwise constructing any street, avenues or alley, which shall be laid off under any provisions of this Act, or of said Act of eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter ninety-nine, the said Street Commissioners shall assess against Baltimore county the cost of grading, paving, or constructing that portion of such street, avenue or alley, which shall be embraced within the lines of any intersecting street, avenue or alley ; and the County Commissioners of Baltimore county shall pay and provide for such cost of con- struction and assessment, in the same manner that other ex- penses of said county are paid and provided for. Which was adopted. The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and ordered to be engrossed lor a third reading. The bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 18 of Article LV. of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Li- censes," sub-title "Fisheries and Horse Races," and to re- enact the same so as to read as follows, Being upon a second reading, Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment: Add the following section : SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage. Which was adopted. |
