Which was read and referred to the same Committee.
Mr. Claggett presented she petition of Morgan H. Clark,
asking to be refunded a sum of money.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Davis,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Davis, Steiner and Blake to
introduce a bill to repeal section 4, of the Act of 1870, chap-
ter 99, entitled an Act to lay off streets in Baltimore county,
and to repeal certain Acts inconsistent therewith, and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill, entitled an Act to refund to Morgan H. dark the
sum of fifty dollars, for money erroneously paid into the
Treasury on the 24th of January last, 1872.
Also,
Leave to the Committee on Finance to introduce a bill, en-
titled an Act to pay to Banner Graves the sum of twenty dollars, for pension due to Joseph Graves, deceased.
On motion by Mr. Stephenson, it was
Ordered, That the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and
its Tributaries be instructed to inquire into and report upon
the expediency of further extending the provisions of chapter
297, entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to appoint
Commissioners to examine the fisheries of the State, with a
view to their improvement and protection, and to report
thereon to the next General Assembly, and to appropriate a
sum of money to defray the expenses thereof.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill, entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed
March 6, 1862, chapter 235, entitled an Act to amend sec-
tion 202, of Article XXX., of the Code of Public General
Laws, relating to crimes and punishments, and providing
for the punishment of treason and other kindred offences.
Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably,
The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 59, of the
Act of 1848, chapter 471, relating to Corporations, and to
re-enact said section with amendments.
Which was read the second time.
