242 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 19,. On motion by Mr. Denson, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to introduce a bill for the relief of Joseph J. Turner, and others, enabling the administrators of Win. M. Dealy, of Baltimore City, deceased, to pay over certain money to the creditors of the deceased. On motion by Mr. Spates, Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Longwell until to- morrow. Mr. Wilson submitted the following JOINT RESOLUTIONS: WHEREAS, The bars and impediments in the Patuxent river, in this State, are annually becoming greater, and will soon seriously affect the important trade on said river ; be it Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That our Senators in Congress are instructed, and our Representatives requested, to use all proper means to; induce Congress to make an appropriation to deepen the Patuxent river, and place buoys on the bars and shoals of said river, from Bene- dict to the head of steamboat navigation. Resolved, That a copy of this preamble and resolution be furnished by his Excellency, the Governor, to each of the Senators and Representatives in Congress from the State of Maryland. Which was read the first time. Mr. Denson, from a Select Committee, to which leave had -been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 5 and 6 of an Act to incorporate the contributors of the Baltimore General Dis- pensary, passed November Session, 1807, chapter 110, and to re-enact the following in lieu thereof. Which was read the first time. Mr. Williams, by unanimous permission, submitted the minority report of the Committee on the subject of the Bal- timore and Ohio Railroad Company, Which, On motion by Mr. Williams, 'T Was ordered to be printed. |
