So the vote by which the bill had been rejected for want of a Constitutional majority, was reconsidered, The question then recurring upon the passage of the bill, On motion of Mr, Chapman, The further consideration thereof was informally post- poned. Mr. Travers submitted the following order: Ordered by the House of Delegates, that the Chairman of the Committee on Claims, be authorized to pay to each offi- cer of this House the sum of $75 for services rendered. Which was adopted. Mr. Duvall submitted the following order: Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims, issue his warrant to George W. Murdoch, the hall-keeper for twenty-five dollars, for washing towels for use of the; House and Speaker's room. Which was adopted. The Secretary of the Senate returned The bill entitled an Act to authorize the State's Attorney of Baltimore City to pay out of the excess of fees of his office such sum or sums of money to the State's Attorney of Anne Arundel county, as may be fixed by the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel county, as compensation in the cases of the State of Maryland versus E. G. Wharton, removed from the Criminal Court of Baltimore City, to the Circuit Court for said county. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed amendments." AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Strike out of preamble the word "cases," and insert in lieu thereof the words "case already tried." Strike out the word "cases," in line 8th, and insert the words "case already tried." Section 1, line 7, strike out the words "five hundred," and insert the words "one thousand." The amendments were severally read. and adopted, and, |
