The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills;
The bill entitled an Act making further Appropriations
for the Support of the Government, for the year ending
tile 31st day of December, 1872.
Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ment!."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Contingent Fund, in line 9, insert:
"To the Librarian, for distributing Laws', Documents and
Journals, one hundred and fifty dollars."
In line 13, under Contingent Fund, strike out "five," and
insert "three" before the word "dollars."
"To be disbursed under the control and supervision of the
Secretary of the Senate."
Under head Baltimore City, strike out in line 12, word
"ten," and insert "five." Line 12, after word "dollars,"
strike out to the word "to" in line 13.
After the word "Children," in line 14, strike out "ten"
and insert "five."
Line 15, strike out "ten" and insert "five."
Section 1, line 6, "Militia," strike out "one hundred,"
and insert "sixty."
Under head "Militia," line I, amend by adding after the
word "dollars," to be expended under the supervision of the
Governor, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of
1870."
After the word "dollars" in line 23, insert, "for contin-
gent expenses of the Court of Appeals, three hundred dol-
lars."
Under caption Baltimore City, after word "dollars,"
in line 16, add the following:
To the Rev. Edward Brennan, to the use of the St. Edward's
Academy, in the City of Cumberland, to be applied to the
support and education of Free Scholars of said Academy, the
sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars.
To the Home of the Friendless, fifteen hundred dollars.
To St. Vincent's Infant Asylum, in the City of Baltimore,
fifteen hundred dollars.
To the House of the Good Shepherd, in the City of Balti-
more, one thousand dollars.
To St. Agnes' Hospital, the sum of five hundred dollars.
