The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the intro-
duction of a supply of water into the town of Hagerstown by
means of water works, appointing a Water Board for that
purpose, and authorizing the Mayor and City Council of
Hagerstown to provide for the construction of said works.
Endorsed, "Reconsidered, Report of Conference Committee
adopted, bill passed, by yeas and nays with amendments pro-
posed by the Committee of Conference.''
The amendments as proposed by following Report of Com-
mittee of Conference;
REPORT.
The undersigned, the Committee of Conference, appointed
to consider the disagreeing votes of the two Houses on the
Senate bill entitled an Act for the introduction of a supply
of water into the town of Hagerstown, by the means of
water works, appointing a Water Board for that purpose,
and authorizing the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to
provide means for the construction of said works, respect-
fully report, that they have carefully considered the same,
and recommend for the adoption of their respective bodies the
following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
In the first line of the title of the bill, insert the word
"soft," before the word "water."
In the third line of section 1, insert the word "soft," be-
fore the word "water."
At the end of the 9th section, insert the following words;
"And the amount of money so to be expended, shall be desig-
nated and appropriated only by and with the advice and con-
sent of the said Water Beard, or a majority of them, it be-
ing the meaning of this Act that the water to he supplied to
the said town of Hagerstown shall be soft water."
