1230 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 28,
Mr. Young, of Washington, reported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the introduc-
tion of a supply of water into the town of Hagerstown, by
means of water works, appointing a Water Board for that
purpose, and authorizing the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to provide for the construction of said works, with pro-
posed amendments.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Section 7, strike out the word "fifty," before the word
"thousand," and insert the words "one hundred."
Section 9, strike out from line 10 to line 20, inclusive.
In the last section strike out all after the word "effect,"
and insert the words "as soon as ratified by the majority of
the qualified voters of the said town at any ensuing election.
The amendments were severally read and adopted.
And the bill as amended, was then read a third time, and
passed by yeas and nays, as follows:
