Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and
11, of Article —— of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Small Pox," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and to repeal section 10 of said Article,
Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Duvall (by unanimous consent) submitted the following
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED,
Section 2, after the words " And be it enacted," strike out
all to the end of the section, and insert the following :
" That the present State Agent shall remain in office du-
ring the term for which he was appointed, and nothing in
this Act shall be so construed as to authorize his removal,
so long as he shall comply with the provisions of (-.his Act,
and of the sections of the aforesaid Article of the Code of
Public General Laws hereby repealed."
Which was adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a third time and
passed by yeas and nays, as follows :
