On motion of Mr. Chapman, (the rules being suspended,)
the House proceeded to the consideration of
The bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1870, chapter
477, entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 385,
which provides for paying pensions to the Maryland soldiers
of the war of 1812, and to the widows of deceased soldiers of
that war, and also to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter 432,
providing pensions for certain soldiers and widows of soldiers
of the war of 1812, and to provide in lieu thereof, for allow-
ing pensions to certain soldiers and widows of soldiers of
the war of 1812, and to re-enact the following in lieu thereof,
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act for the better protection of terra-
pins in the waters of Dorchester county,
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
