The "bill entitled an Act to repeal section 90, of Article
LVI. of-the -Code of Public General Laws, title "Licenses,"
subtitle "Oyster and Eating Houses," and to re-enact the
same with amendments,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The next order of the day, being
The bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of ten
thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary to
repair the 81 ate Tobacco Warehouses in Baltimore City,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act for the promotion and improve-
ment of agriculture and the mechanical and household arts
in the State of Maryland,
Was read a third time, and
On motion of Mr. Street,
The further consideration thereof informally postponed.
The next order of the day, being
The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 27, 28,
-29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36, of Article LVI. of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "License," sub-title
Foreign Corporations and Companies," and to re-enact the
same with amendment,
Being upon a third reading,
Mr. Cooper submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 31, line 13, after the word "licenses," insert the
words, "except that Marine Insurance Companies shall pay
of such excess only one-tenth of one-half per cent.
Which was rejected.
The bill, as amended on the 20th instant, was then passed
