Mr. Streett, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favorably, A bill entitled an Act to amend chapter 341, of the Acts of Assembly, passed at the January Session, 1864, entitled an Act to incorporate the Magnolia and Stockton Turnpike Company, in Harford county. Which was read a first time. Mr. Hamilton, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favorably, A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact sections 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 21, of chapter 469, laws of 1870, entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed January Session, 1868, rela- ting to "Registration of Voters," and to enact other provis- ions in lieu thereof. Which was read a first time. Mr. Chaisty, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favorably The Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent incompetent persons from conducting business as Pharmacists, or vending at retail drugs, medicines or chemicals for medicinal purposes, in the City of Baltimore, and repealing the Act entitled an Act to prevent incompetent persons from conducting the business of Druggists or Apothecary in the City of Baltimore, passed January Session, 1870, chapter 104. Which was read a second time. The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day, The House proceeded to the consideration of The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 179 and 180, of Article XXX. of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to Sabbath Breaking, and to re-enact the same with amend- ments. The question recurring upon the motion submitted by Mr. Wilmer on the 14th inst., to strike out the enacting clause of said bill, Mr. Streett demanded the previous question. The question then being, "Shall the main question be now put?" Mr. Stewart demanded the yeas and nays. |
