JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 19,

Being upon a third reading,

Mr. Wells (the rules being suspended by unanimous con-
sent) submitted the following amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In section one, line two, after the word "thirty" add the
words : thirty-six.

Sec. 36. The Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen shall hold
their first session in Annapolis on the second Monday in
April, and shall meet on the second Monday in each month
thereafter, but the Mayor may summon them to convene
whenever and as often as it may appear to him that the in-
terests of the city require their deliberations, and a majority
of the whole Board shall be a quorum to do business, but
a smaller number may adjourn from day to day.

The amendments were severally read and adopted, and
the bill ordered to be engrossed for a third reading, and hav-
ing been engrossed,

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as fol-
