Which were severally read aud refened to the Committee
on Manufactures.

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

Leave was graated to the Montgomery county delegation
to introduce a bill to enable the Nealsville and Darnestown
Presbyterian Church, to hold certain lands and funds dona-
ted to the church.

Mr. Meekins submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and is
hereby requested to inform this House the amount paid for
publishing the laws passed at the session of 1868, in the seve-
ral newspapers of the State.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to Messrs. McLane, Kirk, Hamilton,
Turner and Shipley, to introduce a bill to repeal section nine
hundred and fifty-nine, Article 4, of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Parks-"

Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot, submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a Special Committee on Retrenchment of
County Expenses, to consist of seven members, be appointed
by the Speaker, with leave to report by bill or otherwise, for
the purpose of examining into county expenditures, with
the view of reducing and making the same more uniform
throughout the State.

Which was adopted, and Messrs. Hardcastle, of Talbot,
Brown, Gatch, Dennis, Watkins, Hopkins and Bowlus,
constituted said Committee.

Mr. Duke submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Librarian be ordered to furnish the
desks of the members of this House with official paper and
envelopes.

Which was rend.

The question being upon the adoption of the order,

On motion of Mr, Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, the yeas
and nays were ordered, and appeared as follows :
