The bill entitled an Act to provide for maintaining and keep-
ing in repair the public roads of Howard county, and to re-
peal the Act passed at the January session, 1868, chapter
358, entitled an Act to provide for the repairs of the public
roads in Howard county,

Being upon a third reading,

Mr. Merrick, by unanimous consent, submitted the follow-
ing amendment:

Sec. 1, line 4, strike out the word "ten," and insert the
word twelve.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then ordered to be engrossed, and
having been engrossed,

Was read a third time, as amended, and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows :
