Cemetery, adjoining the City of Frederick, and for the erec-
tion of head stones to the graves of said soldiers, so as to per-
manently mark and designate the same.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot, Chairman of a Select Commit-
tee, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to amend section 9, of Article 28,
Code of Public General Laws, title "County Commissioners,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to amend section 1, of Article 38,
Code of Public General Laws, title "Fees of Officers," by
repealing and re-enacting the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. McLane, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
with proposed amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to require the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to ta£e charge of and keep in re-
pair, all highways and bridges within the city limits.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the word "to," in line 11, section 1,
and insert the following: ''Direct and require the Mayor and
Citv Council of Baltimore to assume control over any Road
or Bridge owned by an incorporated company.

Amendment was adopted, and bill as amended, read a se-
cond time.

Mr. Neill, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
Torably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and Council
of Hagerstown to levy a tax upon all dogs owned or kept in
said town.

Which was read a first time.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill:

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled an Act
to incorporate the President and Directors of the Chesapeake
Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore.

Which was read a first time, and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.
