Mr. Loker submitted the following order as a substitute :

Ordered, That Milton Y. Kidd, of Cecil county, be de-
clared the Chief Clerk of this House, and Thomas H. Moore,
of Baltimore county, Reading Cleik.

Mr. Merrier accented the substitute.

The order substituted by Mr. Loker was then adopted.

Mr. Markland submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the resident Ministers of the Gospel of all
religious denominations in the city of Annapolis, he and they
are hereby appointed Chaplains of this House.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Waikins submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Speaker appoint a committee of one
from each county, and one from each Legislative district ot
Baltimore city, to report to this House the number of officers
necessary to a proper organization. And also, nominate
individuals to fill said places, and to report to the House
to-morrow (Thursday") immediately after the calling of the
roll.

Which was adopted.

The Speaker appointed the following committee under the
above order :

Messrs. G. M. Watkins, Anthony Kean. E. G. Kilbourn,
James B. Sanner, George Colton, F. S. Hohlitzell, Lewis
Turner, Dr. James I. Duke, Dr. Alex. Hardcastle, John H.
Jordan, James Touchstone. Andrew G. Chapman, Benjamin
Harrington, Noah Bowlus, William M. Ady, Arthur P.
Gorman, Horatio Beck, Fendall Marbury, Joel Thomas, J.
D. Loker, Robert Brattan, E. L. F. Hardcastlc. D. Seibert,
W. G. Gordy, S. K. Dennis.

Mr. Carroll submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the thanks of the House be tendered to the
Hon. Noah Bowfus tor the courteous and dignified manner
in which he discharged the duties of temporary chairman.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McLane submitted the following order:

Ordered, That until a Printer is elected, the Speaker be
authorized to employ a proper person to print the proceed-
ings.

Which was read.

Mr. Watkins submitted the following substitute :
