Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably, without amendment, the following Se-
nate bills:

The bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1841, chap-
ter 32, entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland College
of Pharmacy, and to renew and extend said charter : Where-
as, It is the duty of eveiy good Government to encourage the
establishment of uselul institutions and regulations calculated
to advance the well being, security and interest of the com-
munity, and to protect, so far as possible, its citizens from
those ills and dangers to which they Decome exposed in the
multiplied relations of society, it having been made known
to the Legislature that the corporate powers granted to the
Maryland College of Pharmacy by the State of Maryland,
January 27, 1841, will expire by limitation January 27,
1871, therefore.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the West-
ern Maryland Railroad Company, by increasing the number
of Directors in said Company, and authorizing the appoint-
ment of six Directors by the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore, in addition to two already appointed by said Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, and by authorizing the said
Company to issue its bonds to the amount of fourteen hun-
dred thousand dollars in addition to the amount already au-
thorized, and to secure the payment of the same by mortgage.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled a sup-
plement to an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Super-
annuated Fund Society of the Maryland Annual Conference,
passed at December session, 1839, chapter 285, passed at
December session, 1844, Chapter 21.
