354 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 14,

A bill entitled an Act authorizing the County Commis-
sioners of Somerset county to change the place of holding
the election in the second election district (known as Dames'
Quarter district) in said county.

Which was read a first time and referred bo the Somerset
county delegation and Mr. Dennis.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50, of Article 9,
of the Code of Public Local Laws entitled "Charles county,"
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables,"

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Mitchell submitted the following amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Sub-section 50, strike out the word "one," before the word
"Constable," wherever it occurs in the section, and insert
the word "two," and make the word "Constable," read Con-
stables.

Which were severally read and adopted,

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day.

The House proceeded to the consideration of the Joint
Resolutions in reference to the claims of the State against the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company.

The question recurring upon the resolutions submitted by
Mr. Streett, as an amendment to the resolutions submitted by
Mr. Hoblitzell, as an amendment to the resolutions submitted
by Mr. Merrick,

Pending the consideration of which.

Mr. Blake moved that the House do now adjourn.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Hoblitzell moved that the House take a recess until 4
o'clock, P. M.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Streett moved that the House do now adjourn.

Decided in the negative.
