Commissioners in ratifying or rejecting said award
or return, or in the amount of compensation
awarded, or in any matter relating to the same,
may appeal within sixty days of said ratification
or rejection to the Circuit Court for Caroline Coun-
ty, and either party may be entitled to trial by
jury, and the judgment of said Court shall be final
among the parties; provided, that the person tak-

ing such appeal shall, within twenty days thereof,
cause to be delivered to the Clerk of the said Cir-
cuit Court the award filed with said Commission-
ers, together with a copy of the order of said
Commissioners ratifying or rejecting the same, and
all other papers relating thereto.

Sec. 24. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners may allow their Clerk, Treasurer, As-
sessor and Bailiff, and other employees, such rea-
sonable compensation as they may deem proper,
and pay the same from the fund hereinbefore pro-
vided to be raised by a direct tax on the assessable
property in said village.

Sec. — . And be it enacted, That all persons
holding offices under the present corporation of
said village, and all persons elected or appointed
under the provisions of this Article shall hold
such offices until their successors shall have been
elected or appointed and qualified.

"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police," and
be Section eight hundred and twenty-seven of
said Article.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That an additional section be added
to Article four of the Code of Public Local Laws,
entitled "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police,"
and be Section eight hundred and twenty-seven of
said Article.
