of Baltimore county, Maryland, shall not grant a
license to any person to sell spirituous or fermented
liquors of any kind at any place within one mile

 

of Holly Grove, Baltimore county, Maryland, and
that any person selling any spirituous or fermented
liquors, or any other kind of intoxicating drink,
whether of original manufacture or of a mixed
character, within the above described limits, shall,
on conviction, be subject to the same fines and
punishments now provided by the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, for selling spirituous
or fermented liquors without license.

Prohibitory

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 458.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Washington Mutual
Life Insurance Company of Maryland.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That E. G. Kilbourn, I. M. Denson,
Wm. White, Joshua Biggs, A. P. Gorman and M.
Bannon, their successors, and all other persons who,
from time to time, shall become members of the cor-
poration to be created by this Act, shall be and they
are hereby created and declared to be a body politic

Incorporation

and corporate, by the name, style and title of the
Washington Mutual Life Insurance Company of
Maryland, and they and their successors are hereby
ordained and declared a body politic and corporate
in fact and in law, with the power to purchase,
hold, receive and convey all such property, real or
personal, as they may require, and with all the
legal incidents to a corporation aggregate; provided,
however, that nothing in this Act shall be construed
to grant any banking privileges to said Company,
or the right to issue any note of the nature of a
bank note.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
pany shall have, make and use a common seal,
and shall have full power and authority to make
